You got that with the curse all right. In the story, Prince Stronheart got cursed from a which called "Lazulila" and it is - how could it be other wise - Dutches Ravenwaves fault. He doesn't want to marry her, so she gibves the which half the money of her fathers to ruin his father and put a curse on him.

It is because Luzulila has not enough power to curse him forever, that he has to wear the counter magig with him all the time. It is a blue stone in a madallion that he wears around the neck, but it's only the half of the stone.
The other wone must be found in Lovely Locks Land.
To free him, someone must put the to stones together in the madallion and fasten it around his neck at sunrise.
This happens at the end of the fifth MC.
