How old do you think LLL is?

I started wondering again about how old Lady LovelyLocks is, because I was just flipping through the storybook and it said that LLL was raised at a farm and her foster parents didn't know who she was until those colored locks suddenly popped up one day.

One could argue that it would be a sign of hitting puberty (she certainly looks a bit preteenish in many of the illustrations), but then again, she does have a certain amount of maturity to her character if you watch the cartoon... although she still doesn't have a 100% mature character, since you can catch her play ball with the maidens or join in the fun during village festivities (or she's just a playful adult).

I think it would be fair to say that she is at least older than 12, but still under 18. Fairy tale princesses traditionally seem to have a knack for being about 15 years old. I remember when I first read Cinderella, it said that she was too young to live by herself, that was why she had to endure her stepmother, but she was old enough to marry, otherwise she couldn't have gone to the ball. I stuck with the 15-year-old-princess principle while playing with the dolls, but I was wondering if anybody else had given it any thought. Although... some people think she looks younger than 12, but surely nobody would send a 12-year-old to a deserted castle to rule a country, with just two peers for company! ^^; Anyway, I'd love to hear what you think!

In my opinion...

Hi there...
If you follow the mattel "line", every heroines from that kind of stories (Lady LovelyLocks, Peppermint Rose...) are 12 !!!
But for us, maybe it is more natural to see them more older...
For me, we are in a fairytale, so she can have 12, acting like a young responsible woman and rule a big and sometimes dangerous land, it is possible...Smiling
Anyway, she has a bit in magic in her...so, why not being a little bit more mature too

wonders...

That is a good thing in some ways. Like I said before Queen Elizabeth was 12 when she started to rule England. But the doll looks like she's older. I see the s in America in their 20th year and LLL's doll could pass for that age. She just looks mature to me! shrugs Makeup and everything!!

Pixietail colors!

o.k. I am sure somebody here has asked this before, but..
What color is LLL's pixietails? Did they have different colors in their tails? I was so young then, so I'm clueless. What colors were they in each tail? Which names belong to each one? If I'm going to draw them, I want to know the exact look of these little cuties!

Re: Pixietail colors

It looks like they're all the same color in the tail. You can see all three of Lady's pixies at /node/187

I think she is 16 or older.

I think she is 16 or older. Because in one story she married the prince. So she couldn't be under 16, I think.

yes! soMEone agrees!!

I know. Of course back in Queenie Elizabeth's day you could be as young as twelve. lol, now that I think about it Sleeping Beauty looks twenty! I had to double look. And which story is that? Is that the anime or those tape stories on this site?

Something to ponder.....

Hmmm... In certain countries, LLL is the proper age to become a queen. Elizabeth was only twelve when she ruled England. Perhaps in the drawings as in today's soceity she would be fifteen. Look at the American girls of today. Do they look fifteen, or twenty?
It is safe to say that LLL is perhaps thirteen and in the anime, I'm thinking sixteen. After all Sleeping beauty and her look close to age in the anime?
What do you think?

Re: Something to ponder.....

Well, I remember in the episode where the village kids win a race, Lady hands them the trophy and she absolutely towers over them, so you can clearly see in the anime Lady has to be quite a lot older than those kids (who are maybe about 12). I think perhaps 18-20 would be a good guess. Smiling
