A little update on Ella
Hello there everyone! It's been a while since I've posted here O:
This was my original intro topic here on LLL, but since I am back, I thought I would do a update of sorts, re-introducing myself to those who don't know me, and letting ya'll know what's been up.
I'm Gabriella, though Ella is fine. I've been a member of LLL.org for over a year now, though I was last active quite a while ago. I guess I got caught up in life, mostly work, since the summer after I graduated, the work I was currently at went out of business, and a month later I started a new job, where I worked more hours.
But anyways, I am now 18, though I'll be 19 in October. I attended college in the fall of '07, just some of the basic classes, and hope to return again this fall, though I am still unsure of what I am going for, I am looking at some type of massage. I might take some fun classes, and learn about things I'm just curious about. My older sister will be leaving this month to attend college downstate for aromatherapy and massage, and I am thinking of attending there myself, after perhaps another year here.
I still live at home, which is fine with me. Family is a great thing, so I don't mind living here, while I go to school and get my life settled, though I'm not really looking foward to another winter up here. Not too much has changed, I work as a housekeeper at a local resort, along with my mother. Besides work, there'll be school soon, and then just day to day life ^-^
I'm going to try and be more active here! I'll stop in when I can and when I remember to, and hope to meet people and have a good time here, on wonderful LLL.org <3

It is a smart one, and one she is very interested in, so hopefully she will do well, since she has such interest and can get right into it ^-^

Ugh, I don't even know. I'd almost wished I was one of those kids who knew what they wanted to be since they were little or something. I used to think of teaching, perhaps music or english, at a younger level, since I love kids. But I'm iffy about it.
Another option I considered was something in business, since I love people and numbers, but I don't know if I'd like the working with numbers as much in that sort of job, since I love algebra and trig more than I ever liked finance or anything business related. My mom said I could always learn to do taxes, and do it on the side during tax season for the extra money.
And lastly, I've been thinking of the same as my sister; aromatherapy and massage, more so massage. My mom's always said I have the 'magic fingers' in the family, I was always the one to give back rubs and such, and I always liked doing it and making people feel better and them telling me how much better they felt.
Though I might explore more related options, since the school she is going to, and I might go to, is a trade school of sorts for those career areas. But it's something I'm interested in. And if I went to the same school as her, we could probably room together, which would be convenient and fun.
Also, she wants to get her degree, and open her own aromatherapy shop, and she'd probably do massage on the side, or a joint shop of the both, not sure. And I could work for her, since we get along well and have common interests.
Buuuuut, I haven't figured it all out yet. I have a 2 years worth, that can be used over 3 years, scholarship from a community college where they pay for all my classes, which is really good and I don't want to waste it, but with me leaning towards massage and the like, there isn't much I can take there. So I am figuring it all out.
Might take some business/finance class, in case I ever do taxes or help run her shop, as well as some sort of anatomy/biology class, and then just some fun classes that I want to take. But as I said, it's still all unsettled.
I am also thinking of a job change. I currently work as a housekeeper, along with my mother. I've been there a year as of the 2nd of this month. I've done well there, and I'm a hard worker, even I'm not modest about that. I'm a people person, easily liked. But, my boss isn't my favorite person, and sometimes I feel under appreciated...
...and just the other day a women approached my mother about me changing deparments, to work in reservations, which pays more, and I might get more hours, as well as a different boss, and! I'd get experience with computers and some of the programs they use. But I don't know if I'll like it, so that's another thing to think about.
Soooo, just got some thinking to do, figuring it out and getting things moving along. But I'm doing good with it all and have a good idea with what I want to do.

And anatomy and numbers, it's quite a combo! *grins*
I'm struggling to finish an essay for the library and information science program, but since the job situation is poor I'm not feeling very motivated. I've been told I give good backrubs, but actually getting a degree for massaging would take time and money. As I don't have any more student allowance or loans to take out. I did hear an ex-classmate of mine had studied some spa program or some such here, that also had massage included, but to be able to charge more and actually be able to list what kind of muscle groups etc that one massaged one could take an even higher massage education she had said.
