Oh I had her made. I wish I could do things like this. D:
She was made by Viktoriya Hawthorne. Very awesome Doll Artist.
As for the base I know she used the Tonner Kitty Doll. Her hair was rerooted and dress was made by hand. When I was placing the order I sent a lot of pictures and giving her details on what I wanted. Such as the length and color of the hair. As for the dress I said to just keep to the original with your own little twist. It was really fun and exciting. XD I'm going to contact her again soon for Duchess RavenWaves and Sparkle Pretty Lady LovelyLocks. Can't wait!
Sure! I'll take more pictures as soon as I get the time to do so. I wish I could put Pixietails in her hair... Thats the only downside. She is made just to be displayed... I would like a doll I could touch or brush the hair of. Know what I mean?
Well, BJDs are at least more movable than such a pure display doll, but some do have them as "cabinet babies" only, as the resin does have a tendency to yellow more or less with age, but some don't care about that, others simply polish the dolls up when possible.
But yes, question is which BJD to use as base for an LLL doll, probably something smaller than the 1/4, MSD size, that are about 40 cms and can be somewhat mature but more often in their teens. As there is 1/6, the YoSD size I think it is. They're about the same height as Barbie dolls. For superb movement, Shinydoll Pricco might be the best bet, but probably with a different kind of head, or might one of those heads be suitable after all? Although LittleFees are pretty agile too. But, the Fairyland LittleFees look so very young in the face, then the MiniFees do look more mature, more mature than many other MSD sized dolls.
Their all so beautiful... I think that would be amazing to have a LLL Doll made with BJD's.
I have to be honest though. It really is hard finding a Custom Doll Artist. Especially for personal requests at that. If anyone knows of anyone who can make fashions or custom dolls I would really love to know about it.
Well, for a start, and assuming you mean BJDs.. denofangels.com is the largest online community for BJDs, but in order to view their marketplace, which includes not only downright merchandise sales, but also commissions of faceups and clothing and more, you have to have a certain amount of posts and been member for a certain amount of days.
Otherwise, regarding faceups, ie painting and all of the face. I've seen some really good faceup artists showcasing their works on flickr, like Kesha. One usually talks to the faceup artist, about rates and approximate handling time, and then ships just the head to him/her, they do their magic, and ship the head back.
What you'd need is a good wig maker and someone good with sewing BJD outfits. I've seen at least one wig maker on flickr, and a few BJD outfitters on Etsy. It all depends on the doll that you use as base though. Minifees are quite popular, so chances are probably more likely that someone is able to make custom clothing for such a doll.
I'm getting a Minifee soon (hopefully), of the older B-line body type. The newer, A-line for bodies, is more agile, and has magnets for attaching hands if not head cap as well. If you're not going to pose your doll a lot, the B-line might be just as good as the A-line Although for the A-line, you have 3 and not 2 options for bust, and additionally can decide between 2 types of legs for the female kind.
Say you went for a Minifee, which head do you think would be most suiting and for what character?
If I were to pick out of the links... hm...
MiniFee Shushu is pretty and holds innocence in the face. :3
I think she would be good for Lady LovelyLocks. Oh! and even though that is male I liked the face on MiniFee El for Duchess RavenWaves. The eyes are perfect to me. The face just has "Evil" all over it. Lol.
Yes I love Etsy! I'm going to put a request their for LLL Fashions to be made soon. Hopefully someone can help.
Re: My Custom Doll <3
Oh, that looks wonderful! Particularly nice details with that lace and the very very full hair. She must have one heck of a fluffy petticoat as well
What Tonner doll did you use as base? And just how did you go about in making the dress and hair?
